Detour House Inc. provides accommodation and care to young women and girls in the heart of Sydney through The Girls Refuge. The Girls Refuge has eight beds, is staffed 24/7, and provides a 3-month stay in a safe home-like environment for young women or gender non-binary persons assigned female at birth, aged 12–17 years, experiencing trauma or instability at home. We also support young women with access to transitional and long-term housing, legal advice, career mentoring and employment assistance; school liaison; assistance accessing income support; and developing life skills.
