In July 2025, Yfoundations staff visited youth homelessness service providers (both members and non-members) in four regions across NSW: Mid North Coast, Northern Rivers, Central West and the South Coast. This report captures and encapsulates what we saw and heard from the services we visited. We preface our report on each region with a data-based regional snapshot of the economic, environmental, social and structural challenges in each of the areas.

The findings from these visits complemented the insights gained from our community of practice (CoP) created for staff working in regional and remote areas to explore geographic and systemic barriers to effective service delivery. These insights are highlighted in the analysis that opens the report.

A summary of the key themes that emerged from the visits is provided at the end of the report and reflects the range (and, in large part, commonality) of challenges that exist for homelessness services and in service delivery in regional and remote areas across the state.
